GSUK presented with the prestigious Green Apple Award at the Houses of Parliament
On the 14th November, Genuine Solutions UK were invited to the House of Commons to pick up a prestigious Green Apple Award for the work they have done in the field of recovery, landfill diversion and recycling. The awards, handed out by The Green Organisation, are designed to celebrate businesses who can prove they are delivering strong, measurable environmental performance figures, making a real difference to the planet and demonstrating commercial success.
From The Green Organisation’s website, “Launched in 1994 the awards have become well established as one of the most popular environmental campaigns in the world. Our awards are now in their eighteenth year and well established as one of the major environmental recognition schemes, both in the UK and internationally.”
Selected entries will be submitted to represent the UK at the European Environmental Business Awards in Brussels, put forward to the EU for judging. GSUK have been selected after receiving a silver level award in the recycling category.
These awards are not only a proud achievement that keeps us going, but one that generates publicity for a cause we are trying to promote throughout the industry.
“GSUK is proving to be an increasingly effective environmental solution for the telecoms industry, dealing with huge amounts of waste and end-of-life accessories,” said Gurjit Dhillon, Business Development Manager for GSUK. “Last year alone we diverted more than 200 tonnes of waste from landfill for a customer base that includes all the UK networks. The solution delivers on both an ethical and commercial front and these awards are not only a proud achievement that keeps us going, but one that generates publicity for a cause we are trying to promote throughout the industry.”
The award will sit side-by-side with this year’s FCS Green Award amongst others.
